ARE YOU A WATCHMAN?
by Lewis E. Thomas ARE YOU A WATCHMAN? In the Old Testament a "WATCHMAN" was to man a "TOWER" that was high up on a Fortress Wall!
He was to keep an "ALERT EYE" out to spot an enemy coming to threaten "ONE AND ALL"!
The "WATCHMAN" was to blow a loud signal with a "TRUMPET" as soon as danger was observed!
The "WATCHMAN" had to be very trustworthy, and faithful, if he or she was to serve!
Prophets were also "WATCHMEN" who watched over the Spiritual well-being of the city and the entire "NATION"!
They would warn everyone to continue to walk in perfect obedience to the God of all creation!
There job was to warn the righteous to be careful not to "RETURN" to a Life of Sin!
They were to urge the spiritually lost to repent and to warn them about the "WAGES OF SIN"!
If the "WATCHMAN" fails to warn those that he sees disobeying God's "COMMANDS"!
God says that the blood of those souls will be on the "WATCHMAN'S HANDS"!
God calls "ALL" Christians to become a holy and "FAITHFUL WATCHMAN" on the wall!
"To "WARN" those they see disobeying God, "BEFORE" they take an "ETERNAL FALL"!
If you are a "CHRISTIAN" today, are you also a good "WATCHMAN" over those in your circle of "FAMILY and FRIENDS"?
Do you try to teach them and warn them about the "CONSEQUENCES" of living in Sin?
Do you say nothing to them when you see that they are "SPIRITUALLY UNWELL"!
Do you remain totally silent as you watch them marching blindly down a "PATH to HELL?
A Christian who doesn't warn lost souls about Sin and their need for Jesus and the Cross is a "SHAME and a DISGRACE"!
How can the "LOVE of GOD" be dwelling in you or I if that is the case?
Are we "FAITHFUL WATCHMEN" today obeying God's holy "COMMANDS"!
Or are we "UNFAITHFUL WATCHMEN" with a lot of "BLOOD" on your hands?
Are you a WATCHMAN...?
