DO YOU HAVE A DISCIPLINED MIND?
by Lewis E. Thomas DO YOU HAVE DISCIPLINED MIND? Parents, teachers, principles, coaches, drill instructors, and such are always engaged in various forms of discipline every day!
They point out errors and misconduct that arise in many different ways!
There is one "DISCIPLINE" that I know we all fail at from "TIME to TIME"!
That is the subject matter for this rhyme!
How often do we "DISCIPLINE OUR MIND"?
If God looked inside our head today I wonder just what He would find!
Do we "DISCIPLINE" our mind in a way that pleases our Lord up above?
Do we discipline "OUR THOUGHTS" to make them "fall in line" with "GOD'S LOVE"?
Do we stop evil thoughts the very second they begin?
Or do we let them build up and grow until they become "SIN"?
When others offend us or do us wrong during the day.
Do we control our thoughts and feelings or do we just let them "RUN AWAY"?
Failure to discipline our minds at these times can cause an "UGLY GRUDGE" to form and grow like a "CANCER" on our mind!
A "GRUDGE" can "KEEP US OUT" of Heaven because grudges do "NOT" please our Lord Devine!
When a "LUST FILLED" thought enters our mind, do we stop it instantly or do we "play" around with it for a while?
Do we "ALLOW" it to grow into "SINFUL ACTS" that are "IMMORAL and VILE"?
The Christian "CANNOT" please God with an evil, "UNDISCIPLINED MIND"!
We had better clean up "ALL" those dirty dark corners of our thoughts while we still have "TIME"!
The "RAPTURE" of the Church could happen at "ANY MOMENT" so heed this rhyme "WELL"!
If our thoughts are not pleasing GOD we "COULD" spend "ETERNITY" in that place called "HELL"!
Do you have a disciplined mind?
