Organic or Natural?
by Tonja Taylor

"It's natural," said my husband, handing me the vegetables. "So this will work."

LORD, help me be tactful, I prayed in my heart.

"Darling, everything God made is natural. It just means that it's not man-made. Fruits and veggies are natural, but that label is a little misleading. 'Natural' doesn't mean 'organic' or 'NON-gmo'.

"Hmm," he said.

Overall, my dear husband had been on the organic and NON-gmo ("NON-gmo" means not genetically modified or changed at the cellular level) journey with me for a few years. Combined with continuously following God and making corrections as He told us to, in addition to regular exercise, we had enjoyed overall excellent health, energy, and strength.

Personally, I knew without a doubt that we had avoided at least a few trips to the doctor's office by tithing and otherwise obeying God, speaking the Word over ourselves, and eating 95% or so organic and NON-gmo foods!

I continued to gently share my knowledge. "Organic" means no pesticides or other poisons were used in the soil nor sprayed on the plants, and "NON-gmo" means the seeds and what they came from were not genetically changed.

"Hmm," he said again.

"Thank you for buying as much organic and NON-gmo as possible," I told him. "I appreciate it! And we've discovered that it doesn't cost very much more, if at all, haven't we?"

"Right," he said. "There are many more choices available at the stores now, too," he said.

"Yes!" I said, and smiled. "People are realizing that organic and NON-gmo food tastes just as good or better than the "secular" stuff with all the harmful junk in it! I believe more and more people are going to start using organic and NON-gmo."

"We'll see," said my darling man.

"I know so!" I said. "Thank You, LORD!"
