We’ve all watched telethons or listened to pleas for support on non-profit radio stations. Maybe you were led to pick up your phone and made a generous pledge. Following through on the best of intentions is not always easy.
Churches and ministries need contributions too. Working together, we reach toward the goal of reaching the world with the good news of salvation in Christ Jesus. Multitudes have pressing needs for food, clothing and shelter.
“Now I am giving an opinion on this because it is profitable for you, who a year ago began not only to do something but also to desire it. 'But now finish the task as well, that just as there was eagerness to desire it, so there may also be a completion from what you have. For if the eagerness is there, it is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have (2 Corinthians 8:10-12 HCSB).”
One person can’t do it all. We can all do our part.
“Remember this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not reluctantly or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:6-7 HCSB).”
