Whenever I see my reflection hasn't looked

                      quite right for awhile,

                       He calls me back to my senses

                       and turns my loathing right back 

                       into my smile!

And when my dreams are fraught with worry 

over the troubles I cannot escape;

He calls me to give it all up to Him

and frees me even before I wake.

                      And when I feel like falling apart

                      over my sister's senseless hate,

                      Jesus calls me to be His sibling!

                      and suddenly, peace triumphs over debate.

And when I find myself critiquing someone 

unfairly in judgment;

He calls me to change my mind,

and to put on humility 

for the short-sighted,

as well as the blind.

                         And when I feel pride rise up  

                         and try to overcome me like a dare;

                         He calls me back to His Ways

                         so I can relearn love; 

                         and go on avoiding the evil one's snare.
