Unchallenged humility
readily holds its place;
the unpopular, divinely held back,
while the worldly fill all the space.

Then souls quickly becomes "Puffed Up;"
and egos soar out of bounds,
how unfortunate when numbed applause
drowns out all Heavenly Sound.

But if ever such clamor
should beg the response of a faithful ear,
there would be an unlikely response,
tis' true,
as man is not to be feared!

Yes, if ever I hear
such widely spread chatter;
God has given me words to say:
I could never do all by myself,
what He Works within me
to do each day!

So steadfastly, I will not boast,
no matter how brightly my work may glow;
I will not let it "puff" me up,
for it's the Lord in me,
making it ALL so!

Therefore, bragging words will never
proceed from this mouth,
as this I cannot afford!
For as the Apostle Paul himself has said:
"All of my boasting is in the Lord!"

"If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying." (2Corinthians 11:30-31)
