CROWN OF THORNS
by Lewis E. Thomas CROWN OF THORNS Jesus wore a "CROWN OF THORNS" for the likes of "LOST HEATHENS" like you and me!
He endured a "BLOODY BEATING" at the hands of Roman Soldiers for all to "SEE"!
He was tied to a "POST" and beaten with a "CRUEL WHIP" that had many "TAILS"!
"TAILS" with things attached like metal hooks, sharp objects, and old "RUSTY NAILS"!
The "WHIPPING" lacerated the back of Jesus, leaving ghastly wounds exposing his bones beneath!
Jesus endured it all for you and I to "SECURE" our salvation and to become our "High Priest!"
Blood ran down into his eyes from where the crown of thorns pierced his precious head!
That's the way "WE" treated Heavens "BEST" who opened blind eyes, cleansed the lepers, healed the "SICK", and "RAISED the DEAD"!
He bore a "CROWN of THORNS", the curse of "THORNS and THISTLES that fell upon Adam and Eve!
Which fell upon "US ALL" when they yielded to the Serpent, disobeying God after they were "DECEIVED"!
He wore a "CROWN of THORNS" as we drove rusty spikes through his hands and his feet!
He was DISPLAYING his awesome love for the whole world that was "SO SWEET"!
He wore a "CROWN of THORNS" as they raised his Cross up to place it between two thieves!
Blood dripped from his many wounds as God the Father watched from Heaven, being "DEEPLY GRIEVED"!
He wore a "CROWN of THORNS" as "WE" mocked him hanging there, "CRUCIFIED" for you and I!
He took our place on that Old Rugged Cross to pay the "PENALTY" for "OUR SINS" knowing that to do so he would have to "DIE"!
He wore a "CROWN of THORNS" as he cried out "FATHER, FORGIVE THEM, FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO"!
Then he cried out "IT IS FINISHED" and died there on Golgotha Hill, for "ME and for YOU"!
Most will "IGNORE" what Jesus the Son of God did for us all on that "OLD RUGGED CROSS"!
And "ALL" who refuse to "EMBRACE" Him will die "UNSAVED" and "ETERNALLY LOST"!
CROWN OF THORNS...

Oh!, How precious is that CROSS!
Where my Saviour died for the lost!
Oh! How he delivered me from Sin!
Praise his name!
