Why Does God Permit Suffering?
by Olawale Ogunsola

It was not in the plan of God that man should suffer. Although He is the Creator of everything, Isaiah 45:7.

In the garden of Eden, God provided all that man needed before He created Him. It was man's disobedience that brought suffering to him. Studies have shown that Adam has lived in the garden of comfort for one hundred and two years alone without any loss of smooth relationship with God. It was when his wife became a victim of deceit that suffering was pronounced against them. Since then, it has come to stay.
Suffering is a corrective measure to put man on the right track. As a father, God uses suffering to correct man. God uses suffering to chastise man.

Not only that, existence of suffering instills fear into the heart of man to act right. He knows that if he transgresses God's instructions, he will be punished. So he becomes very careful of his ways. Whoever does not acknowledge God as God with the intention of fearing Him will be punished so that he will know that He is the Lord, Isaiah 45:5.
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
