A Sigh
by PamFord Davis

I heave a sigh…

Do you hear it?

Do you know where a sigh comes from?

It passed through lips but its source goes much deeper.

When discouraged, depressed, stressed or sorrowful; I find myself sighing repeatedly.

I have no medical knowledge to back this up but maybe it’s due to a present need for extra oxygen.

Through self-talk we occasionally give ourselves sage advice.

Count to ten and take deep breaths.

Wait; counting gives us time to survey a stressful situation.

I’m a bearer of good news; sorrow and sighing is temporary.

“So the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing shall flee away. I, even I, am He who comforts you (Isaiah 51:11-12a NKJV).”
