SILENT CHRISTIANS / OXYMORON?
by Lewis E. Thomas SILENT CHRISTIANS / OXYMORON? There are many who proclaim to be Christians in this modern day and time!
Many who are "ANYTHING BUT" and that's why I am writing this rhyme!
Christians are commanded to go out into all the world and to preach the gospel to the lost?
To tell those who are lost and unsaved about what Jesus did for them, on that old "RUGGED CROSS"!
God's Church today is filled with many who claim they are "BORN AGAIN"!
Yet they are "SILENT CHRISTIANS" if there is such a thing, who never tell anyone about Jesus the "MIGHTY KING of kings!
They never "INITIATE" a conversation about the one born of a "VIRGIN BIRTH" who came down from Heaven above!
They never share their love for Jesus, or tell those in their circle of relatives and friends about God's "AWESOME LOVE"!
Many have let "FEAR" tie their tongues down when it comes to standing up for Jesus and "THE CROSS"!
They are afraid to share the Gospel with others at work because their job "COULD" be lost!
Jesus and his twelve Apostles couldn't be forced into "SILENCE" even when it meant their very lives would be lost!
Jesus "DEFIED" those who tried to silence him and for that they "NAILED HIM TO A CROSS"!
The Christians of Jesus' day spoke out boldly even if it meant "DEATH"!
They were "REAL CHRISTIANS" who stood up for "JESUS" to their "LAST BREATH"!
Oh, How WEAK and PATHETIC we Christians are in America today!
If we could see how "PATHETIC" we look to God above, "MAYBE" it would move us to fast and pray!
When God wants to see "REAL CHRISTIANS" he looks in those places where his followers risk their very lives to just "MENTION" his holy name!
Many Christians in AMERICA are nothing more than "COWARDS" who remain "SILENT" so they won't have to suffer "Persecution and Shame"!
Oh Lord, make me as "BOLD AS A LION" and yet as "GENTLE AS A DOVE"!
Lord, let me "SPEAK OUT" every day to tell others about Jesus and his "AWESOME" love!
