How often do you pray for your pastor?
Clergy appreciate our handshakes, hugs and words of encouragement.
Our daily prayers are a necessity.
“Finally, brothers, pray for us that the Lord’s message may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and guard you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do what we command. May the Lord direct your hearts to God’s love and Christ’s endurance (2 Thessalonians 3:1-5 HCSB).”
The work of pastors is never easy; it’s challenging and their witness is often opposed by scoffers and unbelievers.
We can and should pray for them; their families and ministries.
Godly leaders set the example of faithfulness.
“Remember your leaders who have spoken God’s word to you. As you carefully observe the outcome of their lives, imitate their faith (Hebrews 13:7 HCSB).”
Father, I ask You to bless my pastor, his wife and family. Continue to give him Your guidance and protection. Open doors of opportunity and open his eyes of understanding to Your word and will. In Jesus name. Amen.
