A good worker follows instructions.
Many men are known to ignore directions when assembling boxed merchandise. Admittedly, it is confusing if the written instructions are in another language. To a father’s credit they usually get their son’s bicycles assembled in time to place them under their Christmas tree. How do I rate myself in following instructions?
Well, my memory takes me back about 55 years. I was expecting our first child and making maternity clothes. I was clueless but a neighbor helped me accomplish the task. She took me shopping; knowledgeable, she helped me pick out a pattern and material for the clothes. Not only that, she invited me to her apartment and allowed me to use her sewing machine. Inexperienced, I followed my neighbor’s instructions and the directions on the pattern.
“To know wisdom and instruction, To discern the sayings of understanding, To receive instruction in wise behavior, Righteousness, justice, and integrity; To give prudence to the naive, To the youth knowledge and discretion, A wise person will hear and increase in learning, And a person of understanding will acquire wise counsel (Proverbs 1:2-5 NASB).”
Need help understanding the instructions?
Go to the source of all wisdom; ask God.
“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him (James 1:5 NASB).”
