Exceeding Love 4
by Olawale Ogunsola

A sincere lover is a follower of the Lord, Jesus Christ. In other words, a sincere follower of the Lord should love others as Jesus did. No one can exceed Him in loving others. He gave His all for all to gain all for the kingdom of God.
How did He do this? He loved all those who are unlovable. He showed love to those who do not deserve it in any way.
Do you know what? Jesus'Christ, sometimes demonstrates His love in a way that is incomprehensible to humanity. That is the reason walking with Him is only by faith. He demonstrates His exceeding love in unique ways.

A case study is that of Jesus and Lazarus, someone He loved. When this follower was sick, Lazarus sister sent to Jesus for healing of His friend, Lazarus, He did not go. He was reminded by His disciples. He did not respond. He did not deem it necessary to go until He declared that, Lazarus was dead.
Will you not doubt the sincerity of His love for His friend? It was after He knew that he was dead that He announced to His disciples the death of the one He loved. Why did He not go earlier?

By divine arrangement, Lazarus was not to be healed but He was to be raised from the dead. Healing has become common in His hand and among the people, therefore He needed to do a new thing that will glorify the name of His Father in Heaven.
What was Lazarus' sisters' expectations? Healing! What was the expectations of people around them? Healing to prevent iary to the plans of the Lord. They all needed faith to understand what He was about to do.

What was that? He wanted to show people in a unique way that He loved His friend, Lazarus. Did this happen? People said it! The contents are , "[35]Then Jesus wept.
[36]The people who were standing nearby said, “See how much he loved him!” John 11.
If He had come earlier, these would not have happened. Therefore, his weeping and people's declaration were new things that never happened before. Is this not love? People said it. "See how much he loved him!" No one remembered His lateness to come but His expression of love when he came.
Another point He came to prove is raising from the dead. This was to bring forth greater glory and for soul winning. His lateness demonstrated His power to raise from the dead. At the place where Lazarus was laid, authority was displayed. He said, "John 11:40
[40]Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?...
[43]Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!”
[44]And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!” John 11.

To God be the glory. Those who did not believe before put their faith in Christ for this reason, verse 45.
Beloved, if you are a Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, He meant well for you. He wants to do with your life what no one can do because His love for you exceeds that of anyone else. Only believe and follow Him wholeheartedly. Do not doubt Him.

However, if you are yet distances away from the Lord, you are missing good things from His love. He has good things to do with your life. Only allow Him. Let me not deceive you, there is a yoke to carry. It is an easy one.
In His infinite and unequalled love, He has gone to prepare a place for you after this life. He is coming to take you to where He is. A place of comfort. He wants you to reign with Him in His kingdom. He loves you and the best thing is to love, appreciate and reciprocate it. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
