Relationships Seasonings 1
by Olawale Ogunsola Every meal has some ingredients that make it palatable and edible. These ingredients individually contribute their quota to the delicious taste of the meal. Each of the seasonings appeals to different senses of mankind. The one that makes the nose rejoice is different from that which makes the tongue celebrate. So it is with a relationship. It requires different seasonings. These are what we are discussing in these series one after the other. In every dealing, one person may do a wrong thing to the other. This may be intentionally or inadvertently. It is not possible to have a relationship which is totally free of one form of discord or the other. Either it is ironed out amicably or one bears the burden consistently. Do you know that a common word, Repentance, is a very good seasoning for every relationship? That is the truth. At least you will have an improvement in your relationship with others. Any proof of this? "Yes!" is the answer. There are lessons everywhere for a serious learner. During Ed el Kabir, an annual Islamic festival, of 2023 which was celebrated on Wednesday, twenty-eight of June, twenty twenty-three. A grandma wanted to visit and rejoice with her relatives who were Muslims. She discussed it with her husband who did not hesitate to agree with her on the proposed journey. The husband asked her, "When will you return?" The question caught the wife napping. She said, "This is the first time you have asked me that question. Why did you ask me?" Grandma was happy and she promised to return on the seventh day. In the past, she used to spend weeks any time she embarked on such journey because the man never ask about her time to return. She felt not needed. She was of the opinion that her absence meant nothing to the man. For that reason, she could spend her time where she was "needed" and "appreciated". The man turned on a new leave, the wife forgot his past wrong doings, a new and better pattern of life started. That is from a man to his wife. Should the same not be done towards God who wants the best for humanity?. He has the best to offer whoever repent and be converted. Age should not be a barrier to repentance and conversion. The couple in question above were about eighty years of age. How old are you that you cannot repent and be converted? Age should not prevent you from taking the right action that matters now. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
