TAKE ME TO ZION!
by linzy bruno

OH LORD when You arouse me from sleep

So grateful am I for paper and pen,

I scribble out Your Lingo from Zion,

for divine worship will not rescind!

OH take me to Zion, OH LORD,

For only there does my spirit take flight!

And escalating joy from Heaven does overtake me,

all throughout the morning, noon

and dead of night.

And LORD I never want to leave Zion;

Your Holy Mountain where I am so at home,

my spirit, it overflows there;

rejoicing under Your Wing

I shout aloud before Your Throne!

So it makes no matter the time

my clock reads upon the wall,

I listen to the beat of the rhythm

And with great thrill

again harken Your rousing Call.

That’s when I’m sure why

You have for me to wake,

to sit up,

rather than sleep,

withholding shouts of praise,

while enjoying the climb

of that Majestic Mountain so steep.

But when morning comes,

so does my daydream,

to shout from roof tops,

both high and low,

that I’ll stop and see

some poor soul,

wandering aimlessly to and fro…..

Someone who craves like me,

who yearns for a heart that sings

someone I will call brethren,

who will stand aside me

before our King.

So when I hear Your Perfect Rhythm,

at times even coming in song,

I linger in joy;

forgoing sleep

even if Your Rhymes keep coming

all the night long……

But even in such elation,

flying on Zion

higher than my fantasy even can,

my heart still aches for

souls who are lost;

so follow me to the Promised Land!

And behold King Jesus,

lifting you up.

He Will keep you and put you within

His Song,

just pray He lingers,

with mounting joy,

His Presence each morning and all the night long…..

“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation, The joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, The city of the great King. God is in her palaces; He is known as her refuge.” (Psalm 48:1-3)

“Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth.” (Psalm 50:2)

“Remember Your congregation, which You have purchased of old, The tribe of Your inheritance, which You have redeemed—This Mount Zion where you have dwelt.” (Psalm 74:2)

“The LORD bless you out of Zion, And may you see the good of Jerusalem All the days of your life.” (Psalm 128:5)

For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place:” (Psalm 132:13)

“Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the LORD is coming, For it is at hand:” (Joel 2:1)
