No Fool Like an Old Fool
by PamFord Davis

At times, we act foolish; yet, that does'nt make us fools.

Man’s concept of a fool does not always line up with the Master’s.

“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God (Psalm 14:1b NASB).”

No God?

No way!

‘There’s no fool, like an old fool.’

Wisdom does not necessarily come with age.

“The abundant in years may not be wise,
Nor may elders understand justice (Job 32:9 NASB).”

The very young can demonstrate great wisdom and faith. King Josiah serves as a prime example.

“Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath. He did right in the sight of the Lord and walked in all the way of his father David, nor did he turn aside to the right or to the left (2 Kings 22:1-2 NASB).”

Josiah did not waver in his faith.

“Watch the path of your feet
And all your ways will be established.
Do not turn to the right nor to the left;
Turn your foot from evil (Proverbs 4:26-27 NASB).”

Evil abounds. I recall God’s confrontation with Cain.

“And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it (Genesis 4:7 NASB).”
