Whence the Spirit of the Lord

moves within me,

I arise to hear what God

is telling me to say;

I take out pen and paper,

and sit in my favorite chair without delay.

Then I open myself up to receive Him,

and He showers His Love atop my head,

and I have to keep out my own thoughts

when this happens;

all I imagine, long for, and dread.

So in keeping out my own ideas

as much as possible;

emptying myself of my own accord,

God’s Spirit can then inspire me

to write verbatim

every word from Heaven;

the unvarnished intellect of the LORD.

And in such amazing Grace

is this divine communication

it doth take my soul to ground so very high

then I thank Him in receiving,

and He turns up my lips

in joy of days gone by.

So now, as He closes out this writing session,

in blinding light;

keeping me from the fray,

I take comfort in holy receiving

beyond anything of myself,

I could ever think or say.

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." (John 10:27, nkjv)
