PUTTY IN YOUR HANDS
by linzy bruno

Nothing I fancy,

neither trinket, jewel

or famous brand,

can avert my attention

from You my Lord,

for I am but putty in Your Powerful Hands.

For no secret desire,

nor twist of fate on desert sands,

can subdue that Righteous Calling

to go limp

to Your Commands.

So soft and pliable,

squishy like clay,

I submit to what You have ordained;

growing in spirit,

abounding in Truth;

I pray in the Way

You have trained.

Confident in trust,

in mounting love;

I surrender as much as I can,

so mold my heart, my mind

and flesh, and keep me as

putting in Your Steely Hands.

Like liquid silver

before it’s refined,

sculpted, polished

and fanned;

I succumb to You Almighty One,

as I am but putty in Your Capable Hands.

“But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You are our potter; And all we are the work of Your Hand." (Isaiah 64:8, nkjv)
