Staying Pure in the Midst of Evil
by C.A. Simonson

Have you ever wondered why God has placed you where you are? God might have a bigger plan for you than you can imagine.

Joseph dressed the part of an Egyptian. He married an Egyptian woman. When his brothers saw him, they didn’t recognize him. He did his job in a heathen nation, yet he stayed pure in heart and true to God. (Genesis 39, 42:8, 45:7)

Daniel was called the ‘chief magician,’ although he never performed magic. Living among other astrologers, magicians, and seers, he could have been influenced and pulled in by his peers. But he promised not to defile himself. He remained pure. (Daniel 1:8, 19, 2:14,27-29; 6:23)

Esther was a foreign Queen in a foreign land. Chosen to be among the King's harem, she submitted to God's will, 'for such a time as this.' She was married to a nonbeliever but stayed true to God. (Esther 2:17-18, 4:14-16)

They didn’t bend. They didn’t bow. They stood for truth. They put their lives on the line for God. In every case, they remained faithful. And God honored them and used them for great purposes in His Kingdom.

If you stay true to His Word and faithful in your worship, just wait.  "Jesus Christ, the same, yesterday, today, and forever." (Hebrews 13:8) If God did it for them, He can do it for you! Be amazed at how God works out His great plan through your life!
