Dodge the Potholes
by PamFord Davis

Driving on our road is both a challenge and dangerous.

We dodge the potholes every time we get behind the wheel. Trucks and farming vehicles have damaged country roads and heavy rains make it difficult for road crews to do repairs. We try to dodge the potholes but often hit one when avoiding another. Little did we know that elementary school games of dodgeball would prepare us for driving a car?

Remember dodgeball?

I’ve learned that many of today’s schools (believing it to be harmful) forbid the game. Accidents happen but it’s impossible to avoid all of life’s dangers.

We have a role in dodging evil and Satan. He’s a must to avoid.

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11 NASB).”

Dodge him!

“But one whom you forgive anything, I also forgive; for indeed what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, I did so for your sakes in the presence of Christ, so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes (2 Corinthians 2:10-11 NASB).”

Give God full control.

“Submit therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7 NASB).”
