Needed Reminders
by PamFord Davis

My elementary school teachers had a big responsibility. Each teacher began with the ‘three R’s’ of readin’, ritin’ and rithmetic.’ I had so much to learn. They had to keep me focused and challenged.

Their fourth ‘R’ was essential.

Repetition…

Repetition…

Repetition…

The teachers used #4 to drill the first three into my thick skull.

Have you noticed how often repetition is used in spiritual growth; in understanding God’s will?

Your pastor likely uses repetition in his sermons. It’s not because he’s run out of themes or scripture passages. He’s trying to get important points across. Note the repetition in what you hear. Look for repetition in what you read in the Bible and power points. I believe we should pay close attention. I for one, have a lot to learn.

“Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them and have been established in the truth which is present with you. I consider it right, as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, to stir you up by way of reminder,  knowing that the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. And I will also be diligent that at any time after my departure you will be able to call these things to mind (2 Peter 1:12-15 NASB).”
