The rich man ignored Lazarus, a beggar, who had nothing to eat. Why should he care for someone who was a stranger to him? He needed to entertain his guests who came to his feasts, there was no food to spare for the beggar. So, the rich man gave the beggar nothing. One day, while feasting sumptuously at his feast, he died of overeating. He ended up in hell, where he was suffering and had nothing. He longed for a drop of water, just a drop. He was one poor soul.
Lazarus wanted nothing but to eat the leftovers of the rich man’s food. He was a beggar, and the rich man did not give him any food when he knocked on his door. The rich man would not have even given the leftovers to Lazarus if he could help it, but the food was too much for the rich man and his guests so he tossed them to the trash. Lazarus frequently received his food from the trash. He was one poor man.
Yet, when he died, he received abundance provisions. The Lord deemed him faithful in his walk with the Lord and rewarded him. Lazarus was one happy soul!
