The church is not a building or a denomination; Jesus established the church; choosing His followers from around the globe. The different races, languages, and cultures of men, women and children add spice. Believers come from varied education levels; some have great wealth while others are poor and helpless.
Church members meet for worship under trees; in huts and elaborate homes. Maybe you’ve entered Europe’s Cathedrals. I’ve had the opportunity to tour England’s Ely Cathedral and our nation’s cathedral located in Washington DC. The places of worship should never be first in priority.
Jesus is the head of the church. He leads; we follow. Remember that we are Christians; Christ followers. We spread the Gospel under His guidance, the authority of His word and encouragement of our church leaders. Are you part of a local gathering of believers? Don't cut yourself off from the other parts of the body. You need them and they need you.
Don't be misled; the church is not dead. It’s a force to be reckoned with.
… “so that the multifaceted wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places. This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him (Ephesians 3:10-12 NASB).”
