“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18 NASB).”
The ‘Friendsgiving Feast’ internet heading to an article caught my attention. The giving of thanks was the missing element. Isn’t that what the Thanksgiving holiday is all about? Instead, it's used as a day to gather for feasts and football. Say what?
That’s not Thanksgiving; many have left God out of their celebrations. He should be our special guest; will we welcome God into our hearts and homes? Feast on His goodness with gratitude and praise.
Give thanks.
“Let’s come before His presence with a song of thanksgiving, Let’s shout joyfully to Him in songs with instruments (Psalm 95:2 NASB).”
Offer gratitude.
“I will give thanks to You, for You have answered me, And You have become my salvation (Psalm 118:22 NASB).”
Happy Thanksgiving LORD!
“I will offer You a sacrifice of thanksgiving, And call upon the name of the Lord (Psalm 116:17 NASB).”
LORD, I ask for forgiveness. We have been thoughtless and ungrateful. From You, all blessings flow.
