Is The Lord Hungry?
by Olawale Ogunsola The title of this piece may sound strange or even offensive to some people because the Lord is the only Owner or Possessor of all things. He created them for His sake. Do you now wonder, "How can He be hungry?". Do you believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God? Do you believe that He is the King of Kings? Do you believe that He has a throne where He will dispense judgment righteously? Whatever your answer to the above questions, the truth remains that "Yes!" is the right answer. A man's belief does not change the truth. To anyone who believes and confesses so, then such a fellow will not doubt the truth that "The Lord is hungry!" A time is coming when He will judge the nations. The Scriptures disclose that He will tell the blessed of the Father, to inherit the kingdom prepared for them from the foundation of the world, with a genuine reason, To those who will ever doubt the Lord's hunger, do you know that they may not be wrong, after all? How can a man who has nothing feed the Lord Who has everything? It seems unbelievable. However, a careful examination of the Scriptures will prove the expression true. The Lord is hungry! It is only those who are blessed by God, the Father, who fear Him and feel Him. He has everything and gives everything to whomever He is pleased with among men, most especially those He loves. Like many people who doubt how the Lord can be hungry, the blessed and the righteous will wonder saying, Can you see that this is a genuine question? They demonstrated a good deed not knowing to Whom they have done it. They also wondered. However, the Lord, Who is the King of Kings and He is all-knowing answered them, This is a statement awaiting those who are blessed by the Father who is loyal in all the Lord gives them. They will not hesitate to feed those who are household members of Christ. These are His brethren who are one with God, the Father. And the Lord Jesus Christ has the Holy Spirit resident in them, irrespective of their status among the people, that is the least. Being one of His brethren is what matters most. Apostle Paul informs us, "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our Spirit that we are children of God if children, then heirs- heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together." Romans 8:17. Are you one of the blessed of God, the Father? If "yes!", Can you identify some of His brethren around you who are hungry on the right way to eternal life? Do you see it as a duty to feed the Lord Who is hungry in them because they have His Holy Spirit in them? Do not fail to feed Him in or through His brethren. Do not forget that He is the One Who said when He is hungry the righteous feed Him. That time is coming. Now is the time to do the work. Rewards are waiting for you on the appointed day and time. Paul, the Apostle advises, "Let us not grow weary while doing good, Beloved, be up and doing good to Christ's brethren. Your rewards are coming, not only in this world but also in His Kingdom. Do you know that all those who fail to feed the Lord through His brethren will have their judgment as well? They will lament that they never saw Him to entertain Him but He will point to their failure to take care of His brethren. Do not join those who have their portion in everlasting fire, feed the Lord Who is hungry in or through His brethren.
