Jesus is the Way
by PamFord Davis

It’s said that misery loves company.

I’d say, that joy does; we can share our joy and excitement with others. What if we have the same concerns?

That often draws us close too.

Students cram together for exams in the library or in the comfort of home or dorm room. They study together; take the same test and later will learn results together. Need I mention that many partner for encouragement and accountability when dieting?

Best friend Carol and three of my sisters were all pregnant. That same year, I was counting the days till the birth of my first child. We each dealt with the same pregnancy circumstances.

With joy, Elizabeth and Mary confided in each other.

"How could this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For you see, when the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby leaped for joy inside me? She who has believed is blessed because what was spoken to her by the Lord will be fulfilled (Luke 1:43-45 HCSB)!"

The wombs of both Elizabeth and Mary sheltered baby boys. Elizabeth's son John would prepare the way for the Savior.

Son of Mary, Jesus, is the way! He came to save us from our sin.

“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6 HCSB).”
