Lawful And Right

Lawful And Right
"18:19...When the son hath d cone that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.18:21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die."_ Ezekiel.

The Lord does not derive any joy from seeing a wicked man dying in his wickedness.
He wants everyone to repent. He does not want His sacrificial death to be in vain.

In the quoted verses above, doing what is lawful and right guarantees life. Whoever obeys the commandment of the Lord will live.

Do you know that when it is lawful but it is not right, it does not fall in place? It is Righteousness that exalts a nation(Proverbs 14:34).

Some people have lawful rights to own certain things but would not hesitate to forgo such lawful rights because of the suffering of others. Their lawful rights may procure comfort for them and their households but this may not ameliorate the pain of the masses. Therefore, they will forgo what is legally their right so that they will be able to make many people comfortable.

Nehemiah's style of leadership is a very good pattern. In his words,
"5:14 Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah,...I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor.5:15 But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servant's bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God. 5:18 Now that which was prepared for me... yet for all this required not I the bread of the governor because the bondage was heavy upon this people. Nehemiah.

Therefore, it will be better to forgo what is lawful for you but will not be right because it will bring bondage to the people, especially the people of God.

Do you know that anyone who fears the Lord will not hesitate to forgo what is lawful for him to do what is right? This is Righteousness. Are you one of them?

Jesus Christ was accused of doing what was not lawful on the Sabbath. The religious people of His days could not answer His question which was
"13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? Luke.

What is lawful should be right also. What is right overcomes what is lawful only.

Beloved, the law has been made for man but not man for law, Mark 2:27. What matters most is to fear God and do that which is right, no matter the situation. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
