My Living Hope
by PamFord Davis

‘Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight;
I wish I may, I wish I might
Have the wish I wish tonight’

Wishing and hoping…

I no longer place my hopes in bright stars; faith rests in the One who hung them in space. Wishing on stars or crossing our fingers is useless. Stars fall and plunge to the earth leaving only craters to mark their passing and crossing fingers is childish.

Hope rests securely in our heavenly Father's protection, provision and promises.

That kind of hope lives through darkness, despair, trials and tribulation. We could never endure suffering in our natural strength.

Hope crosses my heart.

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed (1Peter 3:15-16 NKJV)."

Don’t give up hope. All things are possible to those who believe in Christ and His resurrection power.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3 NKJV).”
