ECHO MOUNTAIN
by Lewis Thomas ECHO MOUNTAIN I dreamed a dream that was Awesome and frightening at the same time!
The Power of God came down upon me, and said: Take your pen and quickly, write this rhyme!
Suddenly the verse Isaiah 6:8 came into my mind as I stood upon a Great Mountain, Tall and High!
Then I heard the voice of the Lord come down from "far beyond" the stars and the Sky!
The voice of the Lord said: Whom shall I send and who will "GO FOR US"!
"Then said I, HERE AM I LORD, SEND ME"! "I AM SOMEONE YOU CAN TRUST!"
Then the Lord said: If you truly want me to SEND YOU", CRY OUT TO ME REAL LOUD!
So, standing on the top of Mount Echo, I cried out with all my might, hoping to make God really "PROUD"!
I yelled out the words: "HERE AM I, SEND ME" with all my strength and all my might!
My words "ECHOED" through the high and low places of that mountain, all through the night!
I was intrigued by the ECHOS that rolled
through the Valleys, as they shook the ground beneath my feet!
I began to tremble as their Great Power brought me down on my knees, as the ECHOS loudly increased!
The Wild Life throughout the whole Mountain Range was stirred up like never before!
The Great Bears, Mountain Lions, and Eagles added their Shrieks and "ROARS" into a mix of ECHOS never heard before!
Then God spoke, with His voice rolling like MIGHTY THUNDER, through every valley and Canyon wide!
As He said: "I CANNOT USE YOU AT THIS TIME", because I see in you, a growing
"STRONGHOLD of PRIDE"!
God: "REPENT, AND CAST AWAY EVERY TRACE OF PRIDE hiding within your soul!"
"THEN" I CAN "USE YOU" TO WIN THE LOST, SO THEY MAY WALK WITH ME, ON MY AWESOME STREETS OF GOLD!"
ECHO MOUNTAIN...
