“While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Summer and winter,
And day and night
Shall not cease (Genesis 8:22 NASB).”

The seasons are changing; fall officially arrives tomorrow evening here in the Louisiana Delta. I usually resist change in my life; I like a rut and routine. Change of seasons is all together different. That I anticipate; with one exception. I DREAD winter. Those who think arctic blasts are confined to northern states are dead wrong; we have lived coast-to-coast and winter followed us wherever we went.

We've experienced snow and ice in Northwest Florida, South Texas and here in Northeast Louisiana. We even shivered when we spent a winter near Palm Springs! Like it or not, winter is one of the four seasons and God knows, plans and does what's best. I shouldn't resist. Change may make me uncomfortable; but God... Who know what He has in store for us?

“For to the snow He says, ‘Fall on the earth,’
And to the downpour and the rain, ‘Be strong.’
He seals the hand of every person,
So that all people may know His work.
Then the animal goes into its lair
And remains in its den.
From the south comes the storm,
And from the north wind the cold.
From the breath of God ice is made,
And the expanse of the waters is frozen (Job 37:6-10 NASB).”
