All Cares Without Expecting Anything In Return!
‘Look, you have been concerned for us with all this care. What can I do for you? Do you want me to speak on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?’ ” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.” 2 Kings 4:13.

The above is the exchange of words between Prophet Elisha and the rich woman of Shunem. The Prophet was a regular passer-by in the city before the woman obstructed him with exceptional kindness.

She started with little provisions of some food and water to make a well-furnished building available for the Prophet's use. She ended by making all things available. Elijah called it, "All this care."

The irony of it all is that, they did everything without expecting anything in return. Everything was done for a service to God in the life of "a holy man of God passing us by regularly", verse 9.

When the man of God wanted to reciprocate her good gesture, the woman made it known to him that she lived among her people and there was no need to talk to anyone on her behalf, no matter his status.
Glory be to God Who rewards every good work. Gehazi knew the need of the family, which was childlessness. On that day, Prophet Elisha decreed that she would embrace a son at the same time in the following year which came to pass. The Scripture reveals, "But the woman conceived, and bore a son when the appointed time had come, of which Elisha had told her." 1 Kings 4:17.

Beloved, the woman and her husband must have prayed to bear a child to no avail but when she added caring for an Holy man of God and His team, she got one. You can also go and do likewise and you will have good and positive testimonies in the name of Jesus Christ, because the Lord will never forget your labor of love. "For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister." Hebrews 6:10.
