The Lord is One
by Richard Mather Hear O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One. You shall love your Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier with all your heart, mind, strength and soul. Take to heart this commandment and remember to love one another as you yourself are loved and treat one another as you yourself would like to be treated. Father, creator, provider and sustainer, honoured is your holy name. We give you thanks and praise. You are our refuge from the storm, the rock to which we cling. Forgive us our sins and help us to do better. Jesus, messiah and Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world. Like a pillar of light in the desert night-time, you guide us to your Father. Have mercy on us. Holy Spirit, comforter of sorrows, sanctify us with your love. Shower us with your blessings and turn us towards the lamp of Jesus, our high priest and atoning sacrifice.
