Untold Story
by Sara Harricharan Sometimes the best stories are the ones that are best left untold. This is one story I don't dare take to my grave with me. For I fear that if I do, mayhap I will know myself again. It's the kind of story you can tell in a single line. It's when they call someone in line...behind you...and you're the one with the deadlines, that's been standing there for twenty minutes. It's stepping up to the podium and seeing the looks of pity. People who feel sorry for you, sympathethic for what you are. What for? Have I not cried all the tears I have needed to? Cried out to the Lord, begged him to wrench this wretched heart right out of my chest, just so the pain would stop. What am I? Am I a monster? Why should one ever have to make such a request of thier creator, a lover of their soul, one who delights in them. How and why, the questions plauge me, but I do not take back my words. In the honestly between us, in a moment so deep and true, there are no barriers, no boundraries, just us. Just my mistakes and His grace. My despair and His hope, my clumsiness, His perfection...and My hate and His love. This is my untold story. I could not tell it otherwise. I have no fancy words by which to deliver it, nor any presentations to explain it. I only have a memory, the brightest in my mind, of something so precious, so dignified, yet shunned by mankind. This gateway to my life, has but one single lock. And He who holds the key, is yet still my rock, for when I stand in the line, waiting those twenty minutes, I know there is someone with more troubles than I. Someone with more deadlines to meet, someone with more scars than my own heart. I could never claim to be like them, or to understand what they are experiencing, but I can speak for what I have done...and who I am today. This is my untold story. Tell it for me.
