Remember Your Creator While You Are Young

Amanda lived in Anytown, a town in Anyplace.
Always happy, the seven-year-old always looked forward to living her life to glorify Jesus, God's Son.
"Thank you for always showing me how much you love me," Amanda told the Lord.
Amanda's sister, 14-year-old Anita, also loved the Lord, in her own way, but she lacked Amanda's vibrant enthusiasm. "My friends are getting too old to talk about God in public," Anita said. "That kind of stuff is for kids and old people."
The girls' parents, Andrew and Ambrosia, insisted on the entire family vacationing together for two weeks during the summer. Ambrosia's pet peeve was eating a meal without one of the girls asking God to bless the food. "God's good enough to give the food to us," she observed. "The least we can do is be grateful for the food."
Andrew and Ambrosia realized the importance of family devotions, so right before bedtime one member of the family read a verse of Scripture and commented on that verse. Andrew then prayed a brief prayer. He asked God to forgive their sins and thanked the Lord in advance for a peaceful night's sleep.
Annette, Amanda and Anita's great-grandmother, was preparing to celebrate her 100th birthday. Annette had no physical problems and walked with a joyful bounce in her step as she recalled God's blessings in her life.
Annette had always practiced the art of thankfulness. She also realized each new day was a gift from the Sovereign Lord to be celebrated.
When she was eight years old, Annette had given her heart to the Lord Jesus. She loved Jesus with her whole heart and always tried to do His will.
On her 10th birthday, Annette had promised to serve the Lord as a Christian missionary. She and her husband, Alvin, served as missionaries for more than 45 years. On his 75th birthday, Alvin graduated to his eternal reward.
She was heartbroken, but Annette continued to serve Jesus with a joyful, humble heart. "Alvin is now in the Lord's presence," she said. "And one day I'll be reunited with him for all eternity."
Even when Annette reached the age of 120, she seized every opportunity to remind her great-granddaughters to serve God. She quoted the Scripture, "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;"
"You tell us that all the time," said Amanda.
"And I practice what I preach," replied Annette.
"But you're no longer young," said Anita.
"I want to tell you a couple of things," said Annette. "First of all, you're just as young as you feel. And by the way, you're not so young yourself!"
