Resurrection Day Means Christ The Messiah Has Made Us Free!

by Tonja Taylor
4/10/2020 / Salvation

1 Corinthians 7:22 (AMPC) says, "For he who as a slave was summoned in [to union with] the Lord is a freedman of the Lord, just so he who was free when he was called is a bond servant of Christ (the Messiah)."

In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].--Galatians 5:1, AMPC

Freedom can mean many things to different people. But freedom defined by the Bible is freedom as Christ paid for it when He died on the cross over 2,000 years ago for every person that would ever be born!

Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified);- Galatians 3:13, AMPC

His blood paid for the penalty of sin, transgressions, and iniquities; freedom from slavery to fear, death, hell, and the grave; freedom from our own sinful nature's control; and freedom to love and rejoice and give and be who and all that Christ can be through us!

14 To the end that through [their receiving] Christ Jesus, the blessing [promised] to Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, so that we through faith might [all] receive [the realization of] the promise of the [Holy] Spirit.--Galatians 3:14, AMPC

It is the fallen nature of man, before he or she is born again by believing in the shed blood of Christ Jesus on the cross to pay the debt for all wrongs, to be  "independent'; to want to do whatever he or she desires, whenever, with whomever. All of this can create and promote great destruction, to the person and to those whom are affected. Letting the sin nature have its waywith no restraints is not true freedom!

There are rules and laws for a reason--mainly, to protect fallen humans from destroying themselves!

But that's another sermon.

Our focus today is that only by humbling oneself and acknowledging dependency upon the mercy and faithfulness of God the Father, through His Son, Christ Jesus the LORD, can we find true freedom. Once we admit to the LORD that we need Him to please forgive us of our sins, He will. That is why He went to the cross (John 3:15-17)!

Then He comes into our lives as Savior and LORD and our Best Friend Forever, and starts helping us clean up our lives so we can be restored to the wonderful Life He planned for us to have all along (John 10:10)! In serving Him, we have the most glorious freedom and satisfaction that is the most sublime on earth; Heavenly life!

That's what Resurrection Day (which some call "easter," which ia actually a pagan name after an abominable practice I won't mention here!) is all about!

If you have not been born again and want to receive Christ Jesus as your Savior, LORD, and Best Friend forever (He will never leave you nor forsake you! Hebrews 13:5), please say this prayer out loud:

Dear Jesus, I acknowledge and say that You alone are LORD and God. I thank You for dying for me on the cross by shedding all of Your blood to pay the terrible debt of all my sins. I ask You to please forgive me and come into my heart and be my Savior and LORD and Best Friend Forever.

I renounce satan and all of his works in my life, forever.

I receive You and ask You to help me know You and walk in Your ways. I thank You that in this new life in which I follow You, I will go to be with You in Heaven when this body dies. Thank You so much! In Your Name, amen!

Now, if you just said that prayer and meant it, you are truly born again! God is now your loving Father (I John 3:1), Jesus is your Brother Who and Good Shepherd who will always be with you and will lead you in right paths, and the angels are having a party to celebrate your most excellent decision (Luke 15:7)!

Your spirit has been translated from the temporary kingdom of darkness into the eternal Kingdom of Light of God's dear Son, King Jesus (Colossians 1;13,14)!

It is a rebirthing of your spirit!

Ask the LORD to show you the right church body for you to become part of, and for the right Bible to study. Remember there are multiple versions and languages online to use! He will help you.

He will help you--for His Spirit is the Helper Who is with you now, forever!
