It's Easy to Become a Child of God!
by Tonja Taylor
8/16/2021 / Salvation
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:--John 1:12, KJV
Did you know the LORD makes it so easy to become His child? He is a good, good, God, and a good, good, Father! He is Love (I John 4:8).
To become a child of God, and be adopted into the loving, eternal Royal Family, you must choose to believe in the LORD Jesus Christ, God's one and only Son.
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.--John 1:12-13, NIV
Jesus chose to come to earth, live as a human, minister as a human, then die on the cross for us (after being tempted in every way, as we are, but without sin.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin.--Hebrews 4:15, Berean Study Bible
After three days, He was resurrected--the first human to be resurrected! He walked the earth for 40 days and His resurrected life was witnessed by hundreds! Then He ascended to Heaven, back to the right hand of Father God, where He sits forever to rule and reign!
However, He did not leave us by ourselves! He has sent the Helper, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth back to earth, so that He (God, Jesus, Who are One) can be everywhere at once, knowing and helping every person on the planet simultaneously, to be drawn to Christ and receive Him.
But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.--John 15:26, NKJV
His original Plan, from the beginning of time, was to populate the earth with people to be His beloved sons and daughters, and to have a Heavenly life; to live in a delightful, abundant, free, protected, lovely place, as He demonstrates in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 1 and 2).
When the enemy came and caused man to sin, the LORD still loved us so much He covered His sinful children, then preserved the human race, and sent Jesus to die on the cross to pay for the sins of all mankind, forever (John 3:14-17; Romans 3, 6, 8, 10!)!
Jesus died on the cross and paid the sin debt for every person. He became a curse for us, and gave us His righteousness (Galatians 3:13, 14).
5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. 6 For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.…Romans 5:5-7, Berean Study Bible
He took the junk and the consequences for all the mess (poverty; sickness and disease; sin; strife; rebellion; idolatry; every sin man has ever done!), and gave us the Blessing (all the good things of God; the abundant life of God) called "Zoe" (John 10:10)!
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.--John 10:10, Berean Study Bible
Hallelujah!
So if you want to become a beloved child of God today, it's easy. You choose to believe God means what He says (and He always does! He never lies, and cannot lie! Hallelujah!)
1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; 2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; 3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;--Titus 1:1-3, KJV
If you want to become a child of God--with all the blessings and privileges and honors of the Blood Covenant that He made with Christ Jesus, His Son, and has provided for every person if they agree to it--then say this short prayer out loud:
Dear God, I believe that You love the whole world and sent Your Son to die on the cross to pay for my sins. Thank You for Your faithful mercy! I ask that You please forgive me of all I've done wrong. I renounce all of the devil's works in my life. Jesus, please come into my heart and be my LORD and Savior. Then I will be God's child and You will be my Big Brother and Best Friend Forever! I receive You and thank You! Amen!
Now, your mind may be screaming at you, like "This can't be real! It's too easy!" I understand. But the LORD is a wonderful, loving Father, and He wanted things to be easy and great for us to start with! Even with all the devil's works and man's gross sins, the Light of God breaks through the darkness to help people know and be covered by Him.
The LORD's Plan was Heaven on earth in relationship with Him. Since man's sin, it's still Heaven on earth, but there is curse and the devil in the world. However, when we are in the Family of God, things are so much better, and we can have wonderful heavenly times on earth because once we receive Jesus as our Savior and LORD, He is with us always. He is the One Who makes things good and right!
Also, when we are true Believers and our bodies die, our spirits separate from our bodies, and go to be with Jesus in Heaven--where there is no pain, no strife, no loss, no curse of any kind! Because Jesus took the judgment for our sin on the cross, we will only experience good; we will be with God our Father and Jesus our LORD forever!
When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.--Romans 5:6, NLT
Hallelujah!
Once you have received the LORD, the next thing to do is to find a Bible-believing church and get involved. Online church is great, but it's truly better to go to church, as the Bible commands in Hebrews 10:25 (KJV): Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Wear your mask and sit a few feet apart if you need to. If we go to stores and restaurants and other places, there's no excuse to not go to church! And remember, church is not for God. It's for us--it's the school of the Spirit. It's to encourage and comfort and help us, His kids!
At church, and at home--because being a true Believer in Christ is not just on Sundays!--Dig into His Word daily. You can do this by listening to true Biblical teaching and preaching on the internet, television, CDs, DVDs, and more. Also, read the Bible, daily, for it is God's instruction book for life!
We need to read and meditate (think about over and over) the Word of God every day. It is our Father God's Love Letter to us! Even if you've read the Bible many times, there always more He can show you, for He is the Revelation. He will continue to reveal amazing things to you through His Word. It is a living book:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.--John 1:1-5, KJV
Worship Him. A big part of true worship is being thankful! Just like most people, God really likes to be appreciated--especially since He is the One Who gives us every good thing!
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.--Psalm 100:4-5, NJKV
Ask Him to teach you about true praise and worship music, for there is power in it to transform your life (Ask me how I know!)!
Pray, which is simply talking to God. Once you have received His Son, Jesus, as your LORD, and Savior, then God becomes your loving Father, Who is ever near and will hear you (I John 5:14-15), and answer.
If you're not sure how to pray, you can ask God to help you. Also, here is the way the LORD Jesus told His disciples to pray when He was on earth: 2 And He said to them, When you pray, say: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come. Your will be done [held holy and revered] on earth as it is in heaven. 3 Give us daily our bread [food for the morrow]. 4 And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us [who has offended us or done us wrong]. And bring us not into temptation but rescue us from evil.--Luke 11:2-4, AMPC
What an honor to be children of the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and all life, and to be able to have a close, deep relationship with Him--forever!
How great and merciful and faithful and gracious is our God!
Truly, there is no love like that of God--Christ Jesus--for when we've seen Jesus, we have seen the Father! ...He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father'? -John 14:9, NASV
So if you have received Christ Jesus as your Savior and LORD, from now on you can have a wonderful relationship with your Father God and His glorious, victorious Son, the LORD Jesus Christ! Congratulations--it's the best decision you've ever made in your life!
Now, part of being a child of God is to share the glorious Good News (which is what "The Gospel" means) with others. Go for it, for the LORD will be with you and help you!
Hallelujah!
