Silence Of The Righteous

by Olawale Ogunsola
8/26/2022 / Christian Apologetics

Silence is a very great weapon that can be employed by a righteous man. It is efficient when it is rightly employed. It brings forth astounding results in performance.

Yet, for everything, there is a season. There is a time for every purpose under the sun; Ecclesiastes chapter 3:1-8 exposes this in its nakedness.

The words of the righteous man does not fall to the ground or fail. The Lord his God honours whatever he says. That is the reason the Scriptures discloses that,
" The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." James 5:16.

This translates that silence of the righteous man, when he is supposed to speak, can spell doom.

Let us learn a lesson from the life of a great man of God who was Prophet Elisha. A mighty King laid a siege against Samaria for a long time until people started to kill their sons for food. The righteous Prophet was in town but was quiet; he said nothing. The famine in the nation persisted until the king was informed of the decadence of the situation in the nation that people have started to eat their children. This brought the king:s wrath to the fore. He decided and sent to kill the silent Righteous man, Prophet Elisha.

God revealed the secret to him and he prevented the executor from carrying out his act. Details is contained in 2 Kings chapter 6:24-33

What followed?

The Righteous man spoke and it came to pass; 2 Kings chapter 7:1-20. The siege was not only over but famine became a part of history until today.

Beloved, do you know that if you live to please the Lord alone, He will honor your request as a Righteous man or woman? You can influence your society for the better if you speak to the Lord concerning the unfortunate situation in the land. It is time for you to speak out and bring a positive change to your life, family, society or surroundings. May the Lord help you to utter the right words in Jesus name.
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

SALVATION MESSAGE: It is salient to become a new person today by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Confess your sins to Him and He will forgive you forever. Determine to forsake your sins and He will give you the Holy Spirit to help you in the journey of your life so that you can live to please Him. Remain blessed in Jesus name.
