The Power of a Whisper

by Tonja Taylor
11/02/2022 / Christian Living

He hushes the storm to a calm and to a gentle whisper, so that the waves of the sea are still.--Psalm 107:29, AMPC

Lord, when they were in trouble and distress, they sought and visited You; they poured out a prayerful whisper when Your chastening was upon them.--Isaiah 26:16, AMPC

The LORD tells us to praise Him with shouts, and I love to do that.

However, having moved to the city for my daughter's school, then continuing to live on a busy street corner, I have learned to talk to God much more quietly, even in a whisper.

He knows every word before we say it anyway! Hallelujah! How truly awesome (I can only use that word for Him!) is our God!

For there is not a word in my tongue [still unuttered], but, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. --Psalm 139:4, AMPC

So, know this: The LORD is near, so near that He wasn't content to just walk beside us, but He lives within us, in our hearts! Hallelujah!

He is truly the Friend that sticks closer than a brother, and He is with us always, once we have received HIm, the LORD Jesus, as Savior and LORD!

Glory to God!

Even when we whisper in our hearts without opening our mouths, His Spirit hears us! He is so good!

Most of the time, though, we do need to open our mouths--so that we and the enemy (to reinforce our faith, and reinforce to the enemy that he is defeated!) hear the Word of God and the Spirit of God coming out of our mouths, for we walk and talk by faith!

If we didn't believe, we wouldn't speak to God, or speak God's Word.

By [speaking] the word of truth, in the power of God, with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand [to attack] and for the left hand [to defend];--2 Corinthians 6:7, AMPC

For we are not, like so many, [like hucksters making a trade of] peddling God's Word  [shortchanging and adulterating the divine message]; but like [men] of sincerity and the purest motive, as [commissioned and sent] by God, we speak [His message] in Christ (the Messiah), in the [very] sight  and presence of God.There are times, of course, when we are building our faith, and we just speak the Word whether we feel it is working or not, for God's Word is always working! Halellujah!--2 Corinthians 2:17, AMPC

So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.--Isaiah 55:11, AMPC

The bottom line is that, once we receive Christ Jesus as our Savior and LORD by believing in what His blood shed for us at the cross over 2,000 years ago did--to forgive and cleanse us of our sins, for we could not pay the price ourselves!--then we have free access, 24/7, to the LORD Almighty! He becomes our dear, faithful Father; our Covenant God!

My covenant will I not break or profane, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips.--Psalm 89:34, AMPC

He tells us to come to Him. He desires relationship with us, His precious kids! The God of Heaven and earth, the great Creator Elohim, the Great God, Jehovah, is our Daddy!

For though the Lord is high, yet has He respect to the lowly [bringing them into fellowship with Him]; but the proud and haughty He knows and recognizes [only] at a distance.--Psalm 138:6, AMPC

Our Father God wants to talk to us!

For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!--Romans 8:15, AMPC

And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the [Holy] Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba (Father)! Father!--Galatians 4:6, AMPC

He will listen to us and help us and encourage us and teach us His ways, to experience Zoe life--the life as He has it!

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and  enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it a]">]overflows).--John 10:10, AMPC

Glory and praise to Him forever!

So, even if you have to whisper your prayers and praises to your Daddy God, do it. Whispers to God are powerful.

He hears, He cares, He answers!

And it shall be that before they call I will answer; and while they are yet speaking I will hear. --Isaiah 65:24, AMPC

Hallelujah!
