New Mercies Every Morning!
by Tonja Taylor
1/27/2023 / Salvation
The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works [the entirety of things created].---Psalm 145:9, AMPC
"I made a 57-million dollar mistake," said the pastor, about his former life as a drug "lord". He said they were upset, but forgave him...
Those were obviously very worldly people, and they had great mercy.
How much more does our loving God, the Father of creation, and our Father--once we have realized we are sinners and ask Him to forgive us and cleanse us from our sins, and receive His Son, the LORD Jesus, to come into our hearts and be our Savior and LORD--love us, forgive us, not want to remember our wrongs?
When my daughter did wrong, I wanted her to repent, and stop doing the wrong, stop having the wrong attitude, so we could get along as we are meant to--in peaceful, joyful relationship.
God is the same way, only He deserves even more respect and obedience than we natural parents!
Just like we want our children to be repentent when they need to, which means be genuinely sorry for their infractions, and to turn from them and start doing right, so we can have our fellowship restored, how much more does Daddy God?
Sin separates us from Him, and that was never the Plan. He created mankind to have sweet, close, loving, trusting relationship with Him. There was no fear--not until the enemy deceived Adam and Eve, and they listened to him instead of God, then realized they had betrayed the God of Heaven and earth, Who had created them.
At the proper time, God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for all mankind--that He might show mighty mercy, eternal mercy, and restore all people back to Himself!
His desire is that we apologize (repent, ask forgiveness of our sins), and receive the eternal atoning, cleansing, purging act of Christ giving His life for all people for all time on the cross--to pay for our sins, to satisfy the standards of the holy God, Jehovah, Elohim, the Creator and Sustainer of all life--so we can have sweet relationship with Him.
6 While we were yet in weakness [powerless to help ourselves], at the fitting time Christ died for (in behalf of) the ungodly.--Romans 5:6, AMPC
We all want mercy, and we feel better (usually) when we show mercy.
We can look around and see those who seem to be bigger sinners than us...but we are not responsible for their sins. They will stand alone before God to answer to Him--whether they believed in Jesus to be their Covenant God, their Savior, their Blood Covering or not.
We are each responsible for ourselves, and we have to learn not to blame others for our wrong choices, although wrong influences are certainly a factor.
However, God's mercies are so great, and His understanding so very infinite, that only He can truly judge a human heart.
He is for us! His Grace is so amazing, that He can see when we want to do right; when we've been abused and taken advantage of others, and have grown up with wrong influences that caused us to make wrong choices.
Then, there is a time when we have enough understanding that we can no longer blame others.
That is the moment that we realize that, without Christ Jesus' blood covering us and making us acceptable to a holy God, we will be eternally separated from the loving God and Heaven when our bodies die--unless we choose (and every human has a free will; the power to choose Christ, or not) to agree with God that we could never be good enough for God and Heaven by our own efforts.
13 For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved.--Romans 10:13, AMPC
Our LORD--the LORD and God of Heaven and earth and all the universe, and the universeS--is so gracious! He is drawing you right now by His Holy Spirit, to know that He sees you, He loves you, and He knows you by name--and He wants to adopt you into His Royal Family and take you to Heaven with Him to live forever when your body dies.
This world is crazier by the moment.
Jesus Christ is stabilitly, peace, freedom, victory, heaing, abundance, satisfaction, grace, and more!
It's really a "no-brainer": Choose Christ, and live an amazing, protected, satisfying, meaningful life!
What are you waiting for? All you have to do is call to Him, and He will answer!
If you want to receive the LORD Jesus Christ as your blessed, faithful Savior and LORD, just repeat this simple prayer out loud:
Dear Jesus, I need You to please forgive me of all my wrongs, my sins, and cleanse my heart and come into my life and be my Savior and LORD and Best Faithful Friend Forever. I believe in You. I receive You. I renounce all the works of darkness in my life, and I choose You. I choose Light. I choose Life, in Your Name. Thank You!
