He made for appeasement
But mission opposed
Yet mission accomplished

How bruised
How battered
Yet sinless

His philosophy most criticized
His faith most antagonized
His disciples most dehumanized

His followers most hated
His gospel most renounced
His figure most despised

Still thriving
Spreading like wildfire
Even amid growing persecution

And he spreads more
Extending and reaching for every vacant space
Until the age shall close
