HEAVEN'S PASSPORT PHOTO

On most, if not all passport application documents, there should appear a little section that may read something like: 'This is the true and exact representation of the applicant,' besides a slot for the applicant's passport- size photo. It is least expected that a person will attach someone else's image to the application. The assurance is that even if you were to meet the applicant anywhere, you would recognize them if you had seen their image. In case of incidences that require pictorial identification, your passport photo comes in handy! The trouble is, why the photo in the first place? Well, looks like of no use as long as you are local. But soon as you want to stretch out into the unknown, you have to make yourself known by means of your identity documents, including the photo.
We are all travelling on a whole superior inter-creational flight, leaving this setting of creation into the next. Some identification is required of each one of us, to present before the authorities, least important at the departure station, but critical at the destination. The all too simple but valid question is: Do you have a true passport-photo with you? You see, today everyone wants to go in life the easier but wrong way. They will forge this and that, just to go through the check point. But I know a place where forgery will never work! As we cross the bridge of life one by one, day by day, we are faced with one uncomfortable reality: our real identity on the other side! It does not matter who we have claimed we are; it does not matter how much we have survived through the journey on the earth. It all matters whether we are carrying a true and exact representation of our lives.
It is very sad to realize that many have forged their travel documents and are now on the Christian board. They have JESUS' picture on their passports, indicating that they are indeed Children of the MOST HIGH. Unfortunately, their real self is a whole strange appearance. The goat's baby is a goat; the hippo's baby is a hippo; the fish's baby is a fish. I do not think that GOD alone can have babies which are not gods. Psalm 82 tells us that we are gods, sons of the MOST HIGH. What then will appear on the photo? Not the chaos that is ruining the earth today? Not the ungodliness and selfishness of these times? Not the corruption that has infected the statistics of our day?
There is another terrible face to the story. The god of this world has blinded the minds of those who don't believe, lest they should see the light of the glorious Gospel of JESUS shine upon them. The father of lies, of forgery, is the expert at manipulating lives and photos. He can help someone acquire all manner of false documentation, with wrong images on them. He tried it on JESUS but it never worked well for him. He sent his babies to JESUS to tell HIM: For these works we do not stone you, but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man make yourself equal with GOD! Satan wanted JESUS to put on falsehood, to declare who HE wasn't. And that is what he does today. He knocks at people's hearts and tells them to confess who they are not: sick, poor, victims of suffering and failure!
It bothers the devil very little if he can have you attend fellowship, for instance, just to dance a little, feel good_ and may be even doze a little at church. He knows by that you are travelling on false documents. What really matters is the substance of our faith, the genuineness of the hope we profess. We ought to, like Paul prayed, have the eyes of our understanding opened that we may see! Time to check on where and how we stand is now. If the photo on that passport you are carrying is not the true and exact representation of you, time to take another short is now. Your photo should resemble that of JESUS, for there is no other express image under heaven, given among men, by which we should conform ourselves and be likened to.
