Some Thoughts Of Hope During Divorce

by Marijo Phelps
11/17/2009 / Relationships

HUGGED CLOSER

I'm surrounded and rapt
In your arms of love
My Jesus, you've hugged me close
And given me your hope
Anticipation
During a time of trouble
I receive your peace
Calming my storm tossed soul
You take authority
And change my countenance
To a sunrise filled with you!

HIS HOPE

You gave Your hope to me
That I might envision
Beyond
The curtain of tears
And see
Jesus, my hope, my strength and promise
And I Praise You!!

MY HOPE

My Hope is in Jesus
Not finances or circumstances
You might suspect
That's unsound at first or second glance
Yet how can I ever fail
With He who created me
In control wherever I go
Unfolding my eternity
For doesn't He who gave me breath
Know better than I
What and who I must become,
To be completely satisfied?

These were written after my husband of many years moved me out and decided to get a divorce. They were written within a month of that time, as I began to find out the rest of the gory details one by one, as my Jesus was drawing me ever so close to Him. Jesus made this time bearable and kept me from breaking totally actually He took those shattered pieces and put them back together better than they had been to being with. Jesus became my husband in a totally new sense of that word, my ways and means provider, my comforter and my peace. There IS hope. Hang on! Jesus is in the business of LIFE. I might add that this was over 26 years ago and for the past 24 plus years I have had a wonderful marriage to a really great guy. God is in the business of restoring the years of the locust and canker worm.

Joel 2:25
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. (KJV)
Isaiah 54:5-7

For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. (KJV)
