Is talking to yourself a healthy behavior? It may depend on what you are talking about. If your words are grumbling or self destructive, it is wise to remain quiet with lips sealed. Our ears are forced to listen to negative messages around us; our self talk should bring encouragement. Maybe we should program our minds with large doses of uplifting recordings to play back later!
Self talk contains potential dynamic power, leading to personal wholeness. "For she said to herself, if only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well. But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said; Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well (Matthew 9:21-22 NKJ)." She believed! "I shall be made well!" She could have dwelled on her problems. The voice of hopelessness found no place to hide. Faith is the victory!
