The fourth commandment, remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy, was established for mankind to seek the holy righteousness of God, to give them rest from the weariness of sin and its sinful living.
It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come.
With the coming of Christ (the Seed, the Ultimate Sacrificial Lamb, the Lord of the sabbath)the law of the sabbath was glorified, magnified and simplified.
When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, the sabbath becomes a way of life, a way of living. It is not a day set aside to be kept holy. Every day, seven days, in the body of Christ is holy. Daily we walk in His truth according to His holy word, shunning the sins of the world and keeping ourselves righteous, thus honouring the fourth commandment.
Jesus Christ is the Sabbath, the NEW TESTAMENT (The Way, The Truth, The Life). In Christ we find rest, an easy burden with a yolk that is light, all the time, every time.
In living the Sabbath, we the church in the holy body of Christ have peace and are not weary. We are a holy temple, in us Christ resides - the Lord of the Sabbath.
When we embrace the commandment "thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind", we glorify, magnify and simplify our obedience to all commandments, especially the Sabbath.
Just look at the state of mankind in the world today, it sadly lacks the Lord of the Sabbath.
