We have all heard the expression, Put your money where your mouth is. It is easy for a person to talk about making a major purchase, but until money is exchanged it is merely talking. Car salesmen wait with pen in hand to get the prospect to sign their name on the dotted line. Maybe we should coin another phrase. Put your life where your heart is. Many can say they would do anything for us. Would they actually risk their fortunes, health or life to meet your needs?
Jesus Christ demonstrated the greatest love of all. "The greatest way to show love for friends is to die for them. And you are my friends, if you obey me (John 15:13-14 CEV)." His heart and life were as one. "The Father loves me, because I give up my life, so that I may receive it back again. No one takes my life from me. I give it up willingly! I have the power to give it up and the power to receive it back again, just as my Father commanded me to do (John 10:17-18 CEV)."
