Cain and Abel

Now Abel kept them flocks
Leading them over meadows and rocks
Not so his brother Cain
Thought flocks were a pain

Being a man of the soil
From animals he did recoil
Cain tended his garden
Thinking it was less of a burden

Come time for an offering
For the Lord fruits did Cain bring
But from the first born of his flock
Abel carried the animal over the rocks

Knowing God deserved the best
Abel picked the fattest and left the rest
On Cain's offering God's favor did waver
On Abel's sacrifice granted He much favor

Cain was angry his face downcast
Probably that day had no breakfast
Why so angry your face downcast
Do what is right don't be an outcast

Sin you must master it crouches at your door
It desires to have you destroy you to the core
His brother Abel did he lure to the field
Out there killed him acting like a fiend

Abel's blood from the ground did cry
Wanting vengeance from God Most high
Cursed a punishment for Cain was found
To roam the earth as a vagabond
