The Fall Of Man

Didn't know hanging around that tree
Would change history
God's instructions crystal clear
To disobey a consequence to bear

I turned and saw him near the tree
Didn't know I had company
I knew he was crafty as could be
But what he came to do I wanted to see

If it was to tempt me I had known
Far from him I would have gone
To turn and walk away
Eternally would have kept sin at bay


Did He forbid this delicious fruit
How can such a selfish God be good
Eat it you will surely not die
With much persuasion to me did he lie

A look at the fruit did I take
Then teeth marks on it did I make
For it was pleasing to the eye
That I would die suddenly seemed like a lie

A bite too Adam did take
Probably doing it for my sake
Disobedient sinners did us make
Bringing death to the human race

Hearing God we did hide
For by His law we did not abide
With much fear our hearts were filled
Waiting for us God to kill

Feeling naked fig leaves did we sew
That He would clothe us we did not know
Someone else each of us did blame
But on both of us the sin was the same

Thousands of years later
For our sins God did cater
Like the animal he killed to clothe us
His own Son died to save us
