SOMETHINGS JUST DON'T ADD UP

SOMETHINGS JUST DON'T ADD UP

I have heard all my life and have said many times that "when you have done all you can do, then God will do the rest to complete the situation." God has pointed out to me during my reading that, that is not totally accurate. Do you know what is wrong with that statement? I didn't now either until the Lord showed me.

There are times that he will require us to do something, sometimes that something doesn't make sense and at times seems totally stupid or dumb. Then there are times when God handles it on his own. But there is a catch and that is what the Lord showed me all the way through the New Testament and the Old Testament. The catch is we must worship him totally with all our mind, spirit and soul, without holding back anything.

Let's look at a few things that don't make sense at all...Like walking around a city 13 times and expecting the walls to fall down so you can conquer the city. What about going to war with a choir or maybe a trumpet and a light. Sounds kind of funny doesn't it, but look who won.

Joshua 6:1-21 Joshua and his men had to fight at Jericho after the walls fell straight down, but the Lord gave them the victory. All they had to do to get the walls to fall was to walk around them 1 time a day for 6 days then 7 times on the 7th day and keep their mouth shut until the Lord said to yell. When they obeyed the walls fell. These walls were thick enough to hold chariot races on the top of the wall.

2 Chronicles 20:3 and 17-24 Jehoshaphat took a choir to the battle as they sang praises to the Lord, they watched as the Lord gave them the victory.

Judges 7:19-25 Gideon and his small band of men Blew trumpets and let their lights shine then watched as the enemy killed each other then took off running. They didn't even have to fight until the enemy ran away. But if they had refused to serve the Lord in spirit and in truth it would have gone the other way.

2 Kings 4 Who ever heard of having nothing left in the house but a small pot of oil and going to the neighbors to borrow all the large vessels they had to pour that little bit of oil into. I am sure that it seemed strange to the widow, but because she believed what the man of God said she did it anyway. I can see through my minds eye as the excitement started to build as one vessel was filled and there was still oil in the pot. Then the second was filled and the third. The Bible doesn't say how many vessels there were, but I know there were a bunch of them. I am sure that by the time the last vessel was filled they were so excited that they didn't want it to stop but had nothing left to pour it into. Then when they sold the oil there was enough to pay all the bills and live on the rest.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:19 But if ye turn away and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I cast out of my sight, and will make it a proverb and a by word among all nations.

It is real simple get off your high horse and serve the Lord thy God and he will take care of you. If you choose to do your own thing, he will take everything away from you, and turn his back on you.

All the way through the Old and New Testaments it all comes back to the statement Jesus made in his sermon on the mount in Matthew 6:33-34 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

God knows what you need and if you will seek him and worship him he will take care of everything.
