Trust in the Lord

Trust in the Lord

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

We read all through the Bible that we are to trust the Lord, but what does it mean to trust the Lord? It means that no matter what is happening, you believe that the Lord is going to take care of it. It means that if you are sick you believe that God is going to heal you through the power of His word which you have hid in your heart. If you are in financial problems you believe that God is going to provide the money you need or provide the answer to the need through the word you have hid in your heart. If you are depressed you believe that God is going to eliminate the depression by the word that you have hid in your heart. To trust in the Lord you must have hid his word in your heart. You must know the Lord because you can not trust in something that you don't know.

What does trusting in the Lord give you? Psalms 37:3 states that you will be given the land that you have been promised and you will be fed by the Lord because you have sold out to him. Psalms 37:5 states that you must commit your ways to the Lord and he will bring what he has promised to pass. Isaiah 26:4 states that if you trust in the Lord forever he will give you his strength forever. Psalms 32:10 states that if you will trust in the Lord mercy will compass about you. In other words mercy will live all around you and nothing will be able to get to you. Also when you do things that you shouldn't do then the Lord will not give you the punishment that you deserve but will show kindness to you so that you will be able to go on in his ways. Psalms 34:22 states that the Lord will redeem those that trust in him. Psalms 125:1 they that trust in the Lord will be as immovable as Mount Zion. Proverbs 29:25 states the Lord will keep you safe. And Isaiah 26:3 states that your mind will be kept in perfect peace.

If you have the word of God down deep in your heart then you will trust in the Lord. He will be your solid foundation and your guardian. With him looking after you then you have no need for anything the world has to offer. You have no need for the security of the world because it can not stand up to the things that work in the Spirit world. Let go of everything that this world has to offer and turn to God, he is in control of everything physical and spiritual. There is nothing that can happen without the permission of God. Satan and his angels can not do anything without God's permission. Look at what Job went throughnothing happened without Lucifer going to God and asking permission. If that is a fact then why not just trust God with your whole heart and being because nothing will happen to you without his permission anyway.

So what you are saying is that when something bad happens it is by God's permission? The good and the bad all happen with God's permission. The good are a result of your obedience and God wants to bless you. The bad can be that you have done something wrong or it could be that you have pleased God so much that like Job, God wants to prove to Lucifer that you are not going to turn your back on him no matter what Lucifer throws at you. Job did not go through what he did because he had sinned but because he had not sinned and had pleased God. Although Job didn't sing and Praise God the entire time he never turned his back on God and that alone pleased God. It pleased go so much that God blessed him double after the test was all over.

So the rest is up to you are you going to trust God in the good times and in the bad? Or are you going to turn and run to the world when things get bad? That is your only choice. Just think about itwhat can and will God do for you if you trust him? What can and will Satan do for you if you turn your back on God and run back to the world? Make a list if you need to, but look also at the end result when your life on this earth is overHeaven or Hell there are no other options. Who is telling the Truth God or Satan? Trust the one who is telling the truth.
