Do people always work on your time table? Are you impatient and tempted to nag at your spouse when they delay to do as promised? Most of us want plenty of time to meet our obligations, but desire immediate results from others. We keep track of progress and begin to lose confidence in the one running behind schedule.
As God's children, we try to confine the Father of eternity to our hour glass. He is sure to meet all of our needs and fulfill each promise. Will we learn to wait on Him or are we inwardly grumbling? I'm so tired of waiting for you!
The Psalmist gives a beautiful message on the ability to wait. "Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause. Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day (Psalm 25:3-5 NKJ)." God is always ready to teach us the lessons of patience. Is He tired of waiting for you to learn?
